Debra Medina agrees that 9/11 truthers’ beliefs are ‘despicable’ (AUDIO) – Los Angeles LA County Libertarian | Examiner.com

http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-27692-LA-County-Libertarian-Examiner~y2010m2d21-Debra-Medina-agrees-that-911-truthers-beliefs-are-despicable-AUDIO

Debra Medina has flip-flopped and shown she is willing to stand down on searching for the truth. Debra Medina folds under the pressure. Glenn Beck scores a big one for the establishment. May God forgive her.

From the page: “After being interviewed by Glenn Beck and characterized by the talk show host as a ‘9/11/ Truther’,Ă, Ă,

Debra Medina issued a statement Feb. 11 on her website regarding the Beck interview. She stated in part,Ă, “I have never been involved with the 9/11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way…. The real underlying question here, though, is whether or not people have the right to question our government. I think the fact that people are even asking questions on this level gets to the incredible distrust career politicians have fostered …”

Questioned by Dallas talk show host Mark Davis last week, Medina had stronger and more derisive views of 9/11 truthers, agreeing with the host that anyone who dare would believe that the U.S. government was involved in the 2001 attack is “despicable’. Partial transcript:

Davis: “…it would have been over in a day, if after the Beck thing, you’d have said boy, I’m sorry,Ă, I messed up.Ă, I should’ve identified this 9/11 truther movement as the despicable paranoid cult that they are, what a horrible hateful belief to have in your head that 9/11 was an inside job. Why didnt you do that?”

Despite transit cop’s testimony, 3 NYPD officers acquitted in sodomy case

http://www.prisonplanet.com/despite-transit-cop%e2%80%99s-testimony-3-nypd-officers-acquitted-in-sodomy-case.html

From the page: A Times story the day before characterized the showdown as, â€oeJurors will have to sift through the sometimes conflicting testimony of four police officers: Mr. Jugraj; Mr. Kern and Mr. Morales, who took the stand in their own defense; and Kevin Maloney, a transit officer, who testified that he saw Officer Kern jab his baton between Mr. Mineoâ€s buttocks.”
Now that the officers have been cleared, Maloney may have difficulties at work. But then again, even if the officers werenâ€t cleared, history shows that police officers like Maloney that break the so-called blue wall end up marked forever, as other police officers refuse to work with them and promotion opportunities vanish.
At press time, the Associated Pressâ€s comprehensive story on the acquittal never mentions Maloney once.
â€oeA transit system police officer who witnessed the struggle testified for the prosecution,” the AP story states.
Little of the prosecutionâ€s case is mentioned in the AP report, as compared to the successful defense.

http://business.globaltimes.cn/china-economy/2010-02/507404.html

From the page: “By the end of 2009, the amount of the crude oil that China imported from Saudi Arabia exceeded 1 million barrels per day, while the US, the primary importer of the country’s oil before, imported less than 1 million barrels per day for the first time since more than 20 years.

China’s strong demand for oil is changing the structure of the global oil market, a China Business News report said Tuesday.

According to the figures from the General Administration of Customs of China, in 2009, the accumulative total amount of oil that China imported was 204 million tons, breaking 200 million tons for the first time.

Saudi Arabia became China’s largest oil source by exporting 41.86 tons, making up about 20 percent of the oil imported by China.

“The rapid growth of the oil imports from Middle East countries like Saudi Arabia rings the bell of the countries high degree of dependence on foreign trade. To ensure the energy safety, China has to change its economic development model and improve the diversification of its energy sources,” said Han Xiaoping, a China energy analyst.

Saudi Arabia has been one of the most important sources for US oil imports, but in 2009, the imports amount dropped dramatically, while China’s imports amount grew 15.1 percent and replaced the US to become the largest customer for Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia’s change in the oil flow direction seems signal delicate changes in the global oil market, the China Business News report said.

“The US drop in oil imports from the Saudi Arabia does not necessarily mean its influence in the world’s oil market is weakening,” Han said. Han said that the US prices the world’s oil through the dollar and this is more influential than direct purchase of the oil.

Han added that Saudi Arabia’s increase in its exports to China means it is seeking a stable market for its large oil reserve and China’s continuous growing demand is a good choice.”

Europes Stark Choice on Immigration – Newsweek

http://www.newsweek.com/id/233842

From the page: “The trouble isn’t a shortage of immigrants. The European Union has attracted 26 million migrants in the past two decades–a full 30 percent more than America’s 20 million over the same span. But most European countries tried to protect homegrown labor by shutting out foreign workers. The efforts mostly backfired, encouraging a massive influx of illegal aliens, who tend to accept rock-bottom wages and benefits because they have no legal recourse. At the same time, Europe’s generous social benefits encouraged a massive surge of “welfare tourism.” As a result, Europe has ended up with 85 percent of all unskilled migrants to the developed countries but only 5 percent of the highly skilled………………………….

For decades most European countries have consigned immigrants to the margins: in Germany, some professions were restricted to German citizens well into the 1990s, while eligibility for citizenship itself was based on bloodlines until a landmark reform in 2001. Millions of refugees were legally barred from working, which forced them into squalid welfare dependency. Muslims especially remain unintegrated and ghettoized in many European countries, including France, Britain, and the Netherlands. Now many European countries have tabled important policy reforms such as the drafting of a continentwide asylum policy and the formulation of smarter immigration criteria based on education and skills. Others, like Spain and the Czech Re-public, are actually paying migrants to go away. The danger is that Europe’s worsening hostility toward foreigners will halt or even reverse efforts to assimilate those who are already there, spawning a fast–growing, permanent underclass. According to the OECD, immigrants have been losing jobs at almost twice the rate of native-born citizens during the current crisis, and in many countries the socioeconomic gap between immigrants and natives has begun to grow again.”

Express.co.uk – Home of the Daily and Sunday Express | UK News :: The great climate change retreat

http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/158214

From the page: “The Daily Express has led the way in exposing flaws in the arguments supporting global warming.

Last month we revealed how the UN’s International Panel on Climate Change was forced to admit its key claim that Himalayan glaciers would melt by 2035 was “speculation” lifted from a 1999 magazine article. The influential IPCC then admitted it had got the key claim wrong and announced a review.

The Daily Express has also published a dossier listing 100 reasons why global warming was part of a natural cycle and not man-made.

Yesterday it emerged that Professor Jones, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, had admitted he has trouble “keeping track” of the information.

Colleagues have expressed concern that the reason he has refused Freedom of Information requests for the data is that he has lost some of the crucial papers.”

Climategate U-turn: Astonishment as scientist at centre of global warming email row admits data not well organised | Mail Online

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1250872/Climategate-U-turn-Astonishment-scientist-centre-global-warming-email-row-admits-data-organised.html

From the page: “Data for vital ‘hockey stick graph’ has gone missing

  • There has been no global warming since 1995
  • Warming periods have happened before – but NOT due to man-made changes
  • Professor Phil Jones
Data: Professor Phil Jones admitted his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’
The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble “keeping track” of the information.Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.Ă,Ă, Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is “not as good as it should be”.The data is crucial to the famous “hockey stick graph”used by climate change advocates to support the theory.
Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon. And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no “statistically significant” warming.”
