Point of no return: Is Gaddafi a Jew?

http://jewishrefugees.blogspot.com/2009/10/was-gaddafi-jew.html

From the page: ” Israeli TV recently interviewed two Israeli women of Libyan origin. To be fair, rumours that Gaddafi has Jewish origins have been around for some time.

Rachel Saada and Guita Brown are related to Muamar Gaddafi. Guita’s grandmother was the sister of Gaddafi’s grandmother. She, a Jewess, had left her husband for a Libyan sheikh. They had a daughter: Gaddafi’s mother. That makes Gaddafi halachically Jewish.

However, as the learned professor wheeled in to give her take on the matter says, it is all hearsay and there is no actual proof. And although the older interviewee claims, ‘Gaddafi never said a word against the Jews,’ a family tie with the old rogue and madman is not exactly something most would be proud of. “Israeli TV recently interviewed two Israeli women of Libyan origin. Online Encyclopedia and Dictionary – Muammar al-Qaddafi

http://www.fact-archive.com/encyclopedia/Muammar_al-Qaddafi

From the page: “Qaddafi was the youngest child from a nomadic Bedouin peasant family in the desert region of Sirte . His mother was a Jew converted to Islam at age nine. This technically makes Qaddafi Jewish according to Judaism. He was given a traditional religious primary education and attended the Sebha preparatory school in Fezzan from 1956 to 1961. Qaddafi and a small group of friends that he met in this school went on to form the core leadership of a militant revolutionary group that would eventually seize control of the country of Libya. Qaddafi’s inspiration was Gamal Abdul Nasser, a popular statesman in neighboring Egypt who rose to the presidency by appealing to Arab unity and condemning the West. In 1961, Qaddafi was expelled from Sebha for his political activism.

He went on to attend the University of Libya, where he graduated with high grades. He then entered the Military Academy in Benghazi in 1963, where he and a few of his fellow militants organized a secretive group dedicated to overthrowing the pro-Western Libyan monarchy. After graduating in 1965, he was sent to Britain for further training, returning in 1966 as a commissioned officer in the Signal Corps. “

Salt Lake Tribune Aligns With Copyright Troll Righthaven & One Utah

http://oneutah.org/2011/01/22/salt-lake-tribune-aligns-with-copyright-troll-righthaven/

From the page: ” If you havenâ€t heard of Righthaven here is a quick overview. Righthaven is a Las Vegas based law firm that was established about six months ago funded in part by Stevenâ€s Media Group in connection with the Las Vegas Review Journal (No link given on purpose). Righthaven is not a traditional law firm that represents clients in lawsuits, rather its sole purpose of existing is to buy copyrights from its client newspapers then sues alleged copyright infringers on its own behalf claiming they are the damaged party.
Since its inception Righthaven has sued over 200 people, mainly small time bloggers, who had the misfortune of linking to the wrong paper. Righthaven first finds alleged infringers then purchases the copyright from the client newspaper and files a federal lawsuit on a retroactive bases usually in Las Vegas Federal Court. They do this without sending any take-down requests. Righthaven sues for $190,000 (the maximum that the copyright laws allow) and even threatens to take the alleged infringers domain names which is not a legal remedy included in any law but they use the draconian copyright laws and other intimidation tactics to force quick settlements whether the defendants were well within fair use or not. According to the Las Vegas Sun, who has written extensively conserning Righthaven, the settlements have ranged between $2000-$5000 dollars but since Righthaven forces anyone who settles into confidentiality agreements there is no public record concerning amounts paid by defendants. The fact that paying $5000 as opposed to $190,000 and with the high cost of mounting  a defence the vast majority of Righthaven victims have been forced to settle regardless of the merits of the case. “

Heidelberg Catechism
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Heidelberg Catechism is a Protestant confessional document taking the form of a series of questions and answers, for use in teaching Reformed Christian doctrine. It has been translated into many languages and is regarded as one of the most influential of the Reformed catechisms.
Elector Frederick III, sovereign of the Palatinate from 1559 to 1576, commissioned the composition of a new Catechism for his territory. While the catechism’s introduction credits the “entire theological faculty here” (at the University of Heidelberg) and “all the superintendents and prominent servants of the church”[1] for the composition of the catechism, Zacharius Ursinus is commonly regarded as the catechism’s principal author. Caspar Olevianus (1536-1587) was formerly asserted as a co-author of the document, though this theory has been largely discarded by modern scholarship.[2][3] Frederick wanted to even out the religious situation of the territory, but also to draw up a statement of belief that would combine the best of Lutheran and Reformed wisdom and could instruct ordinary people on the basics of the newfound Protestant version of the Christian faith.[4] One of the aims of the catechism was to counteract the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, and so it based each of its statements on the text of the Bible.

Commissioned by the sovereign of Palatinate, it is sometimes referred to as the Palatinate Catechism.

Westminster Larger Catechism

http://www.ccel.org/creeds/westminster-larger-cat.html

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaThe Westminster Larger Catechism, along with the Westminster Shorter Catechism, is a central catechism of Calvinists in the English tradition throughout the world.
[edit] History

In 1643 when the Long Parliament of England called the Westminster Assembly to produce the Westminster Confession, it also asked for a directory of “catechising”. The Assembly asked Herbert Palmer to produce a draft of the Larger Catechism. Robert Baillie and other Scottish delegates found the work disappointing. In December 1643 a committee was formed to write the Catechism. In January 1647 the Assembly gave up writing one catechism and split it into two. The Westminster Shorter Catechism was to be “easier to read and concise for beginners” and the Larger Catechism was to be “more exact and comprehensive”. The Catechism was completed by the Westminster Assembly in 1647. It was then adopted by the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 1648 and (with modifications relating to the civil magistrate) by the Presbyterian Synod of New York and Philadelphia in 1788.

From the page: ” Benjamin Keach was a Baptist. He is noted for first introducing hymnology into the worship service.
